LaonPeople Joins ‘K-Display AX Demonstration Complex’ National Strategy Project

AI Specialist Selected for $22.8 Billion National Strategy Initiative

LaonPeople, an AI specialist company, has been selected to participate in the ‘K-Display AX Demonstration Complex’ project group—a national strategy project valued at a total of 22.8 billion Korean Won (approximately $17 million USD).

This project is a national strategic task jointly promoted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, Chungcheongnam-do Province, and Cheonan City. It aims to secure super-gap technology in the display industry and achieve AI-based manufacturing innovation. The core objective is to establish a standard AI Transformation (AX) model centered on the Cheonan Industrial Complex and subsequently disseminate it to approximately 1,200 manufacturing companies nationwide.

The Cheonan 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Industrial Complexes are home to key display equipment and material companies, including Samsung Display, and are assessed as having a favorable environment for the demonstration and proliferation of AI technology. This project is expected to not only enhance manufacturing competitiveness but also have a positive impact on job creation and regional economic vitalization.

LaonPeople will participate in core AX tasks within the project, including: establishing a flagship AX leading factory, operating a Manufacturing AI Open Lab, building a SaaS-based Manufacturing AI platform, developing a Display-specialized Foundation Model (FM-D), and forming an AX Alliance. The demonstration project group, primarily centered around display equipment companies, plans to advance manufacturing intelligence demonstrations and establish manufacturing standard models by applying Physical AI, Vision AI, 3D AI, and LLM-based technologies.

Furthermore, the project plans to provide an environment through the Manufacturing AI Open Lab within the industrial complex where approximately 200 companies can directly train and demonstrate AI models. It also intends to gradually expand the AI transformation across the entire industry, underpinned by the development of the Display-specialized Foundation Model.
