LaonRoad Enters Thailand’s Smart City Market with Korean AI Semiconductor Technology
MOU signed at the Thai Parliament for AI smart traffic and crime prevention projects
LaonRoad, together with parent company LaonPeople, is entering Thailand’s “Thailand 4.0” Smart City Initiative through a major collaboration on AI-based urban systems.
According to LaonPeople, LaonRoad signed an MOU on March 15 at the Thai Parliament with Millionairee, a company specializing in Thai government projects and AI initiatives. The agreement marks the beginning of LaonRoad’s participation in Thailand’s national smart city development efforts.
The strategic partnership aims to jointly expand AI-powered smart city and global market initiatives. LaonRoad will deploy Korean AI semiconductor–based smart city models in Bueng Kan Province and other major urban regions, while Millionairee will lead government engagement, technical support, marketing, and Southeast Asian business promotion.
A Thai smart city official in attendance stated,
“By leveraging AI vision solutions, our goal is to strengthen public safety and prevent crime. We aim to detect and track suspects, identify vehicles, and manage complex traffic incidents across cities and tourist destinations. Over the long term, the project will expand into autonomous driving, intelligent transportation systems, smart agriculture, smart healthcare, and smart environmental management—ultimately enabling a fully integrated national smart city platform.”
LaonRoad Vice President Byung-Ki Kang added,
“Through LaonPeople’s earlier collaboration with Bueng Kan Province—focused on disaster monitoring and urban safety—we demonstrated not only the scalability of our AI technology but also earned strong trust from Thai government officials. With LaonRoad now joining, we aim to secure major projects using Korean AI semiconductor–based solutions across traffic monitoring, digital twins, and smart city development in partnership with Millionairee.”
Millionairee, based in Bangkok, is known for leading national-scale infrastructure and smart city projects while integrating AI platforms and blockchain technology across industry, finance, and urban development—positioning itself as a key driver of Thailand’s digital transformation.
