LaonPeople Unveils Core AI Technologies; Expected to Benefit from Candidate Lee Jae-myung’s ‘KRW 100 Trillion AI Investment Pledge’

Next-generation AI technologies align with the government’s digital transformation roadmap

LaonPeople is drawing investor attention as a potential beneficiary of presidential candidate Lee Jae-myung’s pledge to invest KRW 100 trillion in AI and strengthen new AI-driven industries. Following Lee’s signing of an AI industry development agreement with the Korea Artificial Intelligence Association (KORAIA), companies with advanced reasoning-based AI technologies are being spotlighted — and LaonPeople is emerging as a key contender.

LaonPeople recently unveiled its self-developed reasoning AI solution, HI FENN, at the AI EXPO and confirmed that the technology has already been supplied to global enterprises. HI FENN was engineered to meet diverse enterprise requirements even prior to commercialization. Powered by the company’s DEEP SCAN technology, HI FENN accurately interprets complex terminology and technical descriptions. Through step-by-step reasoning that mimics human decision-making, the system generates structured outputs such as documents, meeting minutes, and analytical reports, providing services optimized for enterprise workflows.
Going beyond the limitations of traditional generative AI, HI FENN supports a full range of business processes — from planning and analysis to verification and contextual reasoning — and can be deployed flexibly across cloud, SaaS, and on-premise environments. Industry observers note that its capabilities align closely with candidate Lee’s broader digital transformation blueprint, including administrative modernization and public-sector AI innovation.

LaonPeople’s Odin AI, which integrates a Vision Language Model (VLM) with a Large Language Model (LLM), is also receiving heightened attention. Leveraging generative AI–enhanced vision technology, Odin AI autonomously interprets surveillance intent, detects unstructured or previously undefined events with precision, and drastically reduces false positives and missed detections. Its applications span defense, construction, manufacturing, logistics, disaster response, and transportation.

The company’s subsidiary LaonRoad has further strengthened technological credibility by completing three official government certifications — including the Korean National Police Agency Standard Environment Certification — for its domestically developed NPU-based AI semiconductor, which was created under a national R&D program. With expectations for Odin AI to be deployed alongside Korean NPUs in next-generation smart city systems, market sentiment toward LaonPeople remains highly positive.
Industry experts anticipate that candidate Lee’s AI policy roadmap — backed by government support and investment — will accelerate domestic AI technology exports and enhance Korea’s competitiveness in the global AI market.

A senior official in the AI sector stated,

“LaonPeople’s technologies are expected to benefit from government initiatives ranging from next-generation smart city development and domestic NPU projects to global proof-of-concept deployments, AI workforce development, and national AI data-building programs.”

The official also highlighted LaonPeople’s proven track record as an R&D-driven enterprise. During Lee Jae-myung’s tenure as mayor of Seongnam and governor of Gyeonggi Province, LaonPeople was selected as a Top Employment Company, earned the Korea’s 11th Innovative Medical Device Certification, was named a KOSDAQ Rising Star, received the Ministry of Science and ICT’s Excellent Corporate Research Lab Certification, and was recognized as the No.1 Korean AI Company to Watch globally.
