LaonPeople Conducts AI Flood Detection Technology Demonstration Led by Thailand’s Vice Minister of Interior Songsak Thongsri
Expansion Expected into Crime Prevention and Traffic Control for Smart City Development

AI solutions company LaonPeople is expected to advance into full-scale government projects in Thailand after completing technical validation for the second phase of its AI-based flood detection initiative.
According to LaonPeople (CEO Suk-Joong Lee), the company conducted a technology demonstration on June 16 (local time) at the AI Control Center in Bueng Kan Province, Thailand, showcasing its generative AI–based integrated control system. LaonPeople presented detection manuals and response scenarios for floods and earthquakes along a 100-kilometer stretch of the Mekong River.
During the demonstration, LaonPeople introduced a baseline project for flood and earthquake detection across five key regions in Bueng Kan using its Odin AI (OdinAi) system. The company also unveiled a detailed business strategy aimed at expanding into smart city development—linking disaster detection with crime monitoring and traffic control—to position Bueng Kan as a leading AI-driven provincial government within Thailand.
Vice Minister of Interior Songsak Thongsri, who attended the AI flood detection validation event, said:
“Building an AI-based CCTV system for flood and disaster detection is essential not only for Bueng Kan but for the entire nation. Thailand has long been vulnerable to flooding and natural disasters, but with LaonPeople’s Odin AI, accurate disaster detection and rapid response will finally be possible.”
He added:
“Beyond disaster control, we will actively support expanding generative AI applications into traffic monitoring, crime detection, and other critical areas so that Thailand can advance into a true AI Smart Nation in cooperation with LaonPeople.”
In response, LaonPeople CEO Suk-Joong Lee stated:
“Through this generative AI–based system, we aim not only to prevent floods and disasters but also to contribute to Thailand’s digital transformation by allocating part of the project budget to AI talent training, technical support, and educational initiatives. We will help Thailand step forward as a global smart city–driven nation.”
The event, held at the Bueng Kan AI Control Center, was attended by CEO Suk-Joong Lee, CTO Kiwook Yoon, Thailand’s Vice Minister of Interior Songsak Thongsri, Bueng Kan Governor Jumpot Wanchatsiri, and AidenLabs COO Dennis Noh, among others.
The project will begin with AI-based flood and disaster video surveillance and expand to transform Bueng Kan into a smart city hub within Thailand.
