LaonPeople Deploys Korea-Made NPU-Integrated AI Control System in Thailand

Expansion into AI semiconductor supply and follow-up projects… accelerating global market penetration

AI solutions company LaonPeople will deploy an on-device AI control system powered by a Korea-made NPU (Neural Processing Unit) in Thailand.

Through a newly secured overseas proof-of-concept project, LaonPeople plans to supply a next-generation AI control system—combining domestic NPU-based edge on-device AI technology—to global markets including Thailand. The system will support multi-modal AI detection across disaster response, safety monitoring, crime prevention, traffic management, and public security.

The project will be carried out as a consortium with MOBILINT, a Korean AI semiconductor company. By integrating domestic NPU technology with generative AI, LaonPeople aims to significantly enhance inference performance, enabling immediate identification and real-time response to disasters or criminal events. The ultra-low-power, high-performance AI semiconductor is also expected to improve operational efficiency by reducing network usage and maintenance costs, providing an optimized solution for local infrastructure environments.

Thailand—already working with LaonPeople through an ongoing MOU—has been expanding nationwide smart city initiatives across construction and infrastructure sectors. By integrating Korean-style AI control technologies, LaonPeople intends not only to strengthen Thailand’s safety infrastructure but also to expand global opportunities by supplying Korean AI semiconductors and AI solutions to provincial governments driving smart city development.

A LaonPeople representative stated:
“By combining Korean AI semiconductors with generative AI technologies, we have strengthened both performance and competitiveness while establishing a foundation for global expansion. We will continue to apply optimized on-device AI control systems—enhanced with generative AI—across traffic, environmental management, industrial safety, and smart city applications.”

This project aligns with Korea’s national initiative to select and support “National AI Champions” under the Ministry of Science and ICT and the National IT Industry Promotion Agency (NIPA). The program aims to reinforce Korea’s AI industrial ecosystem and strengthen national competitiveness in the global AI market by supporting next-generation AI technology companies like LaonPeople.
