Laon People Participates in Regional AI Transformation Project to Build AI Solutions

AI specialist company Laon People announced on the 30th that it has been selected as a key participant in the Ministry of SMEs and Startups’ “2026 Regional-Led AI Transformation Project.”

The initiative, titled the “Chungnam AI Transformation B.R.I.D.G.E Project: A Core Manufacturing AX Hub in Central Korea,” will be carried out through a collaborative framework connecting Chungcheongnam-do Province with the cities of Cheonan and Asan. Led by Chungnam Techno Park, the large-scale project has a total budget of KRW 29.8 billion and brings together a consortium of nine organizations, including Laon People. Within the consortium, Laon People will play a central role by overseeing the deployment of AI vision solutions and the development of an AX service platform.

Chungcheongnam-do is one of South Korea’s leading manufacturing regions, ranking third nationwide in GRDP and home to major production bases of global corporations such as Samsung Display, Samsung SDI, Hyundai Motor, and LG Display. Through this project, approximately 90 small and medium-sized partner manufacturers in the semiconductor, display, and mobility (automotive parts) industries are expected to accelerate their AI transformation, further strengthening the region’s manufacturing competitiveness.

Laon People plans to develop industry-optimized AI vision inspection solutions and enterprise AX platforms while applying machine vision-based training software and inference modules directly to manufacturing sites. In particular, the company aims to enhance the utilization of domestically developed semiconductors by adopting Korean NPU-based edge AI technologies, while also improving the quality competitiveness of 소재·부품·장비 (materials, parts, and equipment) companies. Through these efforts, Laon People is expected to play a pivotal role in driving practical AI transformation across manufacturing industries.

A representative from Laon People stated, “Participating in the national AI transformation project provides an important opportunity to expand our AI vision solutions among small and medium-sized manufacturers in the Chungnam region. We plan to secure strong references across semiconductor, display, and automotive parts manufacturing processes and use them to further accelerate our expansion into domestic and global B2G and B2B markets.”

Meanwhile, the consortium also includes major academic and industry organizations such as Seoul National University, KAIST, Kongju National University, the Korea Productivity Center, as well as AI companies MINDs Lab (Maum AI)and OKESTRO. Through collaboration with these partners, Laon People plans to further enhance the technological sophistication of its AI vision solutions while strengthening its technological leadership in the AI sector through expanded academic and policy networks.
