A stain is a type of defect caused by poor camera module. Often, images taken with smartphones show faint marks in certain areas. These faint marks are sometimes referred to as stains, and in severe cases, it is difficult to identify with the naked eye so that they can be identified by shaking the screen. If the inspection is carried out with the rule base, several over-detections occur in the edge area due to the lens shading phenomenon. 

 LAON PEOPLE uses AI to conduct a stain inspection, and it has more accurate stains than the rule-based inspection.

Because the lens module is composed of multiple single lenses, foreign/bad visual inspection of individual single lenses is required before assembling the lens module.

The client wanted to improve productivity and quality by replacing visual inspection for foreign substance/error of individual single lenses with vision inspection. Different types of defectives should be detectable in a single solution, and it is required to detect fine-sized defect considering product characteristics.

Client, a complete smartphone manufacturer, wanted to introduce Vision Solution to the inspection process of assembly status on the back of the smartphone, which relied on visual inspection.

The client's on-site environment had to be considered, and the barcode readings had to be performed while checking the fastening of 11 parts that were spread throughout the back area within a minimum of time. In addition, we had to overcome the lighting environment that varies according to the work position of the site, and we had to ensure accuracy considering the environment in which the object of inspection moves at an unspecified speed and direction according to the worker. It is also required to solve the difficult challenges of minimizing the testing time.
